I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to delve deeper into the Houston Ballet repertoire by penning features for their news magazine and programs. Working with the development office and its staff has been a pleasure.
So far, I’ve presented an analysis of Balanchine’s neo-classical Jewels, an exploration of ballet narrative through the lens of the 2021-2022 season, and a close look at the origins of Madame Butterfly, including Artistic Director Stanton Welch’s ballet, and the story’s role in the 21st century.
